The Usability team concentrates on the usability aspects of the Roxen products. The most visual inpact will be on the Content Editor interface of Roxen Platform. This user interface will be improved to the limits of web interfaces, making it even easier for content writers or web designers to use Roxen Platform.
Platform will get builtin support for multilingual content within its version control repository. It should be as easy to host a multilingual website with Platform 1.4 as to host a single language website with Platform 1.3.
The template system of Platform will be redone using the new XSLT standard for XML templates. The template system will be tightly integrated with the Content Editor, making it easy to work with templates and possible for web designers to see how changes to the templates affects the web site before commiting those changes. To ensure easy migration it will still be possible to use HTML files for the content.
For Challenger RXML will be greatly improved. The 1.3 version of RXML has severe quoting problems making it hard to use for complex applications. The RXML parser will be improved to parse entites as well as tags. All variables and related functionality will use entities like &variable; instead of special characters like $variable$. The end result is that only &, <, >, ' and " will have to be quoted.
Furthermore, RXML will be made XML compliant. Thus using RXML to generate XML languages like XHTML or WML will cause no problems. For WAP developers using WML special tags will be created to help make it easier to develop WAP applications that works on any WAP terminal. It should not be necessary to write entire versions of the application for each terminal.
