LysKOM is a conference system. Such systems lets users read and comment messages written by other users. It is a way to communicate information, to get help and to help, to guide, to organize, to run a project, and to get to know other people. Examples of other conference systems include BBSs, Lotus Notes, First Class. The LysKOM server is released under the GPL.
The Roxen Community is partly based on a LysKOM server. LysKOM itself is developed at Lysator Academic Computing Society at Linköping University, Sweden. (Coincidentally the birthplace of Spider/Spinner/Roxen and uLPC/Pike.)There is a LysKOM to web gateway developed for this community. Click here to use it. If you want to, you can also use one of the existing LysKOM clients. (There are quite a few actually.)
If you like GNU Emacs or XEmacs, the client of choice is the elisp client (Debian package here.).For Windows users, there's WinKOM and KLC.
Here's one of the few LysKOM web pages in english.
The address for the Roxen Community LysKOM server is community.roxen.com, on the standard port 4894.
